When I was in early high school, I never considered tutoring. I believed I could figure everything out on my own. But over time, I realised how powerful great teachers truly are. After realising the power of teaching, I continuously asked for mentoring and feedback from my teachers. I went from trying to handle everything by myself to realising how much easier things became once I had teachers who genuinely helped. They guided me, pushed me, and ended up helping me achieve a 95 ATAR and an admission to my dream degree at UNSW (ranked top 20 in the world!!). That experience eventually led me into tutoring, where I discovered how much I love helping students grow. There’s nothing like watching a student’s eyes light up when something finally clicks.

One moment that truly inspired me to keep tutoring and create Lumin Tuition, was when I was working with a primary student who hated fractions and struggled to focus. After just one lesson, he suddenly told me he started to love fractions out of nowhere! The reason being that I had made it easy and clear for him to understand. That simple moment showed me the real impact tutoring can have: confidence, transformation and the reminder that learning isn’t hard, it just needs to be taught by the right way.

That’s why I chose the name Lumin. It represents light, the spark that appears when a student finally understands. And that spark is at the heart of everything we do at Lumin Tuition, tailoring our lessons with passionate tutors that know how to brighten your child to what they are truly capable of.
